Well,
It's been a while, but lots have happened over the past months. We are now the proud parents of two Sun Conures Fizzy and Ollie. They really are beautiful all be it a bit noisy! Last week Rupert the blue budgerigar joined us and today we are collecting two further parrots which we are fostering for a bird charity. All in all they keep us busy and very entertained (no need for television now!). Suzie, our springer adores their company and will sit for hours wagging her tail and watching their antics.
I have been trying to knit some plucking vests for re-sale with proceeds going to the charity, unfortunately the prototype didn't go too well so back to the drawing board with that. I have also bought some fun fur to make some hammocks for the birds to sleep in, so my craft work, while it has been neglected over the past months will now have a fresh purpose. Happy weekend to you all

Friends Old & New
Well, it's been an odd month, we had to say goodbye to Patch our Springer Spaniel, she succumbed to kidney failure and went down hill very quickly. Her sister is our worry now as they had never been parted. She has developed an ear infection and has been rather withdrawn. She doesn't want to interact with any other dogs at the moment and will walk in the opposite direction rather than make contact with her old friends. Fortunately a visit from the grandchildren helps to get her old tail wagging.
The long tailed tits decided to move on else where. We had a bit of a cold snap the beginning of the month and the obviously decided that April Cottage wasn't the place for them.
I have been putting larger pieces of fruit out for the birds and was surprised at how quickly whole pieces were disappearing. Initially I thought it perhaps Jays were feeding but it turns out we have a family of squirrels moved into the bay trees at the top of the garden. They have been spotted feeding on the sunflower seeds so I suspect that is who has been eating the bulk of the fruit.
We hope to Foster some parakeets soon, just waiting for home checks and if sucessfull I will post some pictures of our new babies.
Well off now to play hide and seek with the Boars at nthe end of the road while I take Suzie for the first of her morning walks.
Keep well all, until next time x

The Things I will do for a free ride........
Well I've had an eventful few weeks. Went to Plymouth over Easter for a short break, had a great time as always and returned back to work after the Easter Break. That's when it all went wrong. I had a massive rush of pain which resulted in me almost collapsing in the works car park!. To cut a long storey short I ended up going by ambulance into hospital with suspected stomach ulcers and am awaiting a scan to confirm the doctors suspicion of gall stones. Coupled with my frozen shoulder, tinnitus and Meniers I really do feel a wreck at the moment !!
To pass the time I have been reading (unfortunately the shoulder has put pay to any craft work or knitting!).
I'm sure it will all pan out OK soon, but I get very impatient and want to get better NOW ! Meanwhile I think I should get back to taking a few pictures and catching up with all the lovely blogs and ideas waiting to be discovered in blog land.
Love to all, keep well

Tilda Bunnies
Rather than an Easter Egg I bought this book from Amazon. It is full of great makes including hens, Bunnies, Geese, hearts. We have started on a goose and I have been busy making her pantaloons. I hope she is as pleased as we are so far.
